Ok the image here is a NEBULA , Its called the Trifid Nebula,: The Trifid Nebula Messier 20 (M20, NGC 6514) in Sagittarius is a remarkable and beautiful object as it consists of both a conspicuous emission nebula and a remarkable reflection nebula component.

*Emission nebulae are clouds of high temperature gas. The atoms in the cloud are energized by ultraviolet light from a nearby star and emit radiation as they fall back into lower energy states (in much the same way as a neon light). These nebulae are usually red because the predominant emission line of hydrogen happens to be red (other colors are produced by other atoms, but hydrogen is by far the most abundant). Emission nebulae are usually the sites of recent and ongoing star formation.

*Reflection nebulae are clouds of dust which are simply reflecting the light of a nearby star or stars. Reflection nebulae are also usually sites of star formation. They are usually blue because the scattering is more efficient for blue light. Reflection nebulae and emission nebulae are often seen together and are sometimes both referred to as diffuse nebulae.

Yeah its a great part of our universe and thats just the little little tip of the universe

nebulas are like debris of the big bang. clouds of dust. sometimes, nebula are group of hydrogen compressing first to make a helium atom and then so on until a STAR IS BORN!!!

Sometimes nebula are decay's from supernova explosions or nova explosions.

Nebula is a cloud of interstellar gas and dust that can be observed either as a luminous patch of light or a a dark hole or band against a brighter background. The interstellar gas atoms and the light is emitted by the atoms as they interact with the free electrons in the nebula.

There are many types of nebula which i can explain but i know you don't want to hear the boring stuff..

But its good to hear that some people have the juiced of what nebula is. Thats great.. awesome guys keep asking question and i will try to answer them, maybe i will start a topic in the right place for this..
